TALENT ON LOAN FROM! 1/4/09
Covered Bridge has so many talented people in its community and we are here to give many thanks to Roberta Foster and Rose Profetta for donating the new paintings and 3D art that have been hung in the newly painted lobby of our ballroom. Keep up the great work girls and thank you, thank you, thank you!
Also, did you know that the ten foot screen in the Ballroom was donated by TAG many years ago. This organization, along with a few others, have been very generous to our community. Another thank you, thank you, and thank you!
Carolee Trifon Goodbye 2008---Welcome 2009!
Happy New Year Covered Bridge! Our party was smaller this year, there were no lines to get in the door, no long lines to get our food, the food was a wonderful experience--the service was a great way to get us feed and there was plenty of food. The people to thank are in the dozens, the lobby was clean and painted, the screening with our new projecter was a sweet touch, and there will be more of that, our Chef played Master of Ceremonies - and our kitchen staff and cooks were wonderful. Wouldn't it be nice if that was all that was to be said but alas, that's ain't gonna happen.
The plans for the improvements in the lobby started many months ago---a Committee of four was put together, and we met and made decisions. It took a lot of choices, and samples, and a few bids but it got done and my thanks to those gals, on to more work in the Spring. John asked for his volunteers and started meetings months ago, people to get prices on decorations, balloons, food, etc. That doesn't happen overnight-- it just seemed easy when you walked in and experienced the night. We actually went and asked Wegmans to give us a good price on our meat and their Meat Manager, Frank C., came through for us, so next time you visit Wegmans, stop at the butcher and say hi and thanks. The people who shopped and made numerous trips to Sam's and the Produce store and made arrangements for pickups and deliveries - again, volunteers, dedicated. The man who put it all together this year, John Malanka. Josephine, the "chicken lady", Marilyn, who finally came back from Arizona, Jimmy who never seems to be anywhere except where we need him, Paul who has been key to the improvements, audio and video, as well as sweating in the kitchen, Jackie and staff and their quest to get our decorations and make it all special and save a few dollars over last year in the process---Joe, never stops once we get him in the kitchen - wish he was retired now! Our thanks to Sally for bringing Algia Motley to us again. Last year he blew the house down, this year he gave a more quiet side of his talent - what will next year bring. We'll have to wait to see what Sally has in store for us. So you see, it's not that easy and it was a team effort all the way, including our own employee, Mel "Butch" Maddox who had cleanup detail and is with us at every big affair. Thanks to our crew who put up with the redecorating committee, it wasn't easy! So, from all of us, to all of you who bring us together as friends and neighbors, for whatever reason, a heart felt, thank you.
Carolee Trifon Jan. 1st., 2009 ******************************************************** Congratulations to Kenny Samet and the computer room volunteers for developing beautiful menus for the New Year's Eve party. Their professional touch contributed to the wonderful time had by all. Sid Leveson ***************************************************************** Sid Leveson First ,I would like to thank Kenny and all the other people that work so hard maintaining the web site which I know it is a lot of work I notice in the January news letter that they are installing Direct TV in the clubhouse, which I think is a great idea, It will allow the people of Covered Bridge the choice of cable or Satellite TV which I think is a better buy for your money. I would assume that being they are putting it in the clubhouse,we the residents will be allowed to install in our homes...... John Mattioli ************************** I have read the email about building 69 with regards to their garbage area. I must say that many building have this problem including the one I live in at 98 Arrowood Road. Placing a letter on everyones door does not do anything. There are people that just don't care. Its is very frustrating when people do the right thing and others don't. Also, September's newsletter listed on 2 pages all the rules for the garbage areas. I recently copied those rules and placed a copy in everyones door and on the buletin board. At some point fines should be assessed and passed on to everyone in the particular building. Maybe having to pay a fine will change some bad habits. Also, it might be a good idea to have a blue recycling can in every garbage area as everyone does not follow the rules of placing their recycling in front of their doors and may think its okay to leave a bag with recycling in the garbage area. I have noticed that the association does not check that area of every building and they really should. That's why I think recycling cans is a good idea. Everyone goes to one or two cans and the maintenance people who pick up the recycling do not have to climb stairs all day. Best Regards, Bridget Dispenzieri Rosemarie Dispenzieri 98 Arrowood Road Manalapan, NJ 07726 The following e-mail From Martin Katz 10/4/08 MRS. COHEN, OUR CONDO REP, HAS SUGGESTED THAT I PUT THE RECURRING GARBAGE PROBLEM AT BLDG. 69 IN WRITING AND SEND YOU A COPY. I NOTICED YESTERDAY THAT THERE WERE A NUMBER OF FULL LARGE BLACK PLASTIC GARBAGE BAGS PLACED UNDER THE STAIRS NEAR APTS A AND B. IN ADDITION, THERE WAS ANOTHER BLACK BAG THAT WAS IN THE BUSHES NEARBY. IT WAS OPEN AND A LOT OF CANS AND BOTTLES APPARENTLY INTENDED FOR RECYCLING HAD SPILLED OUT UNDER THE BUSHES. I CALLED THE OFFICE AND TOLD JOAN ABOUT THIS. I HAVE CALLED THE OFFICE MANY TIMES THIS SUMMER ABOUT NEIGHBORS WHO PERSISTENTLY LEAVE REFUSE IN THE GARBAGE AREA AND NEVER CALL THE OFFICE TO REQUEST ITS REMOVAL, AS SPECIFIED IN THE REGULATIONS. IT IS UNFAIR THAT SOME OF THE NEIGHBORS AND I HAVE TO REPORT THE REFUSE THAT IS LEFT BY OTHERS.
TO RETURN TO THE SITUATION YESTERDAY, I THEN CALLED THE TOWNSHIP AS I MENTIONED TO JOAN AND SPOKE TO DAVE RICHARDSON. HE SUGGESTED A LETTER FROM THE OFFICE TO BE PLACED IN THE DOOR HANDLES OF EVERYONE IN BLDG. 69 REVIEWING THE PROCEDURES FOR DISPOSING OF GARBAGE AND REFUSE.
TO CONCLUDE, I THEN CALLED MRS. COHEN TO INFORM HER OF THE SITUATION. NOW THAT EVERYONE KNOWS ABOUT THE SITUATION, I LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR DECISIVE AND PROMPT RESPONSE TO HELP US KEEP OUR BUILDING AREA NEAT AND ATTRACTIVE AND HEALTHY.
