DEFENSIVE DRIVING AARP's "55 Alive Safe Driving Course" WILL ONCE AGAIN BE SPONSORED BY THE HOCB ORGANIZATION. The classes are given over a two day period - 4 hours each day from 9 AM to 1 PM. The cost is $12 for AARP members and $14 for non-members. No exams required. The classes are informative and fun to take. Call Lila Weitzman at 732-536-0292 and she will place your name on a list for a future class. REMINDER - you must repeat the course every three (3) years to keep getting the insurance discount.
CHAIRCERCIZE A fitness class for all ages on Fridays at 10:00 AM in the Party Room. No need to register, just bring yourself and join the fun! DUPLICATE BRIDGE This activity is held in the Ceramics Room every Friday afternoon at 12:30 PM under the direction of Irwin Fried. All are welcome. 3D ART Come on all you would be artists! We meet on Mondays, 10AM - 11 :30 AM in the Card Room opposite the Ceramics Room. No special talent is needed for this course. It will be enjoyed by anyone who participates. WOMEN SINGERS The Women Singers of Covered Bridge, under the direction of Be a Gilman, meet every Tuesday at 2PM in the Party Room. We sing in three-part harmony. Our repertory includes classics, folk songs and songs from American musical theater. If you like to sing and can carry a tune, please join us. LINE DANCING HEAR THOSE HAPPy FEET??!! Classes will be offered starting March 12 every Wednesday from 1 PM to 3 PM in the Ballroom with a professional caller and instructor. $40 per person for 10 lessons due at sign-up. HEARING AIDS FOR THE NEEDY Do you have a hearing aid that is not being used or a unit that does not work? HOCB will have it recycled for the needy. Please wash the hearing aid in alcohol and put it in a plastic bag. Then bring it to the clubhouse and drop it into the box marked "Hearing Aids" on the table in the main lobby. Ruth Falsone will send them to be recycled. If you have any questions, call Ruth at 732-972-5241. Those with hearing difficulties may want to take advantage of the following information. The State Division of Deaf and Hard of Hearing, 1-800-792-8339, offers a list of places providing financial consideration for hearing aids based on ability to pay. LIBRARY Anyone interested in using the audio tapes from the Library can call Gerry Lippin at 732-617-1580. LARGE PRINT BOOKS ARE AVAILABLE IN THE LffiRARY. If you are handicapped and wish to be included in the HOCB program, call Sam Goldberg at 732-972-8794 and he will pick you up at home on Tuesday afternoon using a bus supplied by The Monmouth County Office of Transportation. You will be taken to the nearby Foodtown Supermarket, assisted with shopping if necessary and then returned to your home.
