PRESIDENTS MESSAGE I am pleased to tell you all the areas that the dedicated Board has
been working on and accomplishing in the short time since we took office.
Our successful July 4th event at the clubhouse is due to the hard work of all the volunteers, and on behalf of the Board of Trustees, I would like to thank you all.
In our effort to promote resident participation, I am pleased to announce that the Trustees have agreed to open the future events on Memorial Day, July 4TH Labor Day and the Wine and Cheese parties starting in August, to all residents at no cost. All you need is your Covered Bridge ID Card. We will continue to explore opportunities to expand our activities at low cost to our residents.
The Board of Trustees has hired a new law firm, Greenbaum, Rowe and Simon,
to represent Covered Bridge, on a retainer basis rather than on hourly rates.
Law firm representatives David Ramsey and Jennifer Lobeac will be at a
"Meet and Greet" event in the Club House on August 10th at 7:00 pm, sponsored
by the Board, where they will be available to answer questions from residents
and where light refreshments will be served.
We are actively continuing the repairs of our concrete walks and look forward to
an early completion. If there are safety conditions that you want to report, please
accompany your written request with a picture. This will help us identify priority areas.
The air conditioning systems in the club house are being repaired, and in some cases they are being replaced where parts for the existing systems are no longer available.
By the time this is being published, we will have received bids for the remediation of the Aluminum Wiring. These bids will be based upon specifications that Board has developed to clearly define the scope of work required and to more efficiently evaluate the responses.
Our Insurance Committee is continuing to investigate better premium terms and alternate companies. We have received assurances of reasonable coverage and we are'
following insurance requirements to make us a more desirable to insure.
In order to better meet the demands on the Trustees, the Board has appointed
Arlene Schwartz as Advisor to the Board. She will be filling many of the areas where the Board needs research, follow up and advice. Through her input, we are already streamliningl "procedures and filling in gaps to help our condo association optimize our efficiency and
better address your needs.
We are looking 'outside the box', exploring many areas to maximize our revenues without incurring a burden on the Association. Our volunteers are the life blood of Covered Qridge and I want to thank all of our residents for their suggestions and support. We are all working to make Covered Bridge the best condominium in the State.
Sincerely,
Perry L. Schwartz Board President
