                           TALENT ON LOAN FROM!

Covered Bridge has so many talented people in its community and we are here to give many thanks to Roberta Foster and Rose Profetta for donating the new paintings and 3D art that have been hung in the newly painted lobby of our ballroom. Keep up the great work girls and thank you, thank you, thank you!

Also, did you know that the ten foot screen in the Ballroom was donated by TAG many years ago. This organization, along with a few others, have been very generous to our community. Another thank you, thank you, and thank you!

                       Goodbye 2008---Welcome 2009!

Happy New Year Covered Bridge! Our party was smaller this year, there were no lines to get in the door, no long lines to get our food, the food was a wonderful experience--the service was a great way to get us feed and there was plenty of food. The people to thank are in the dozens, the lobby was clean and painted, the screening with our new projecter was a sweet touch, and there will be more of that, our Chef played Master of Ceremonies - and our kitchen staff and cooks were wonderful. Wouldn't it be nice if that was all that was to be said but alas, that's ain't gonna happen.

The plans for the improvements in the lobby started many months ago---a Committee of four was put together, and we met and made decisions. It took a lot of choices, and samples, and a few bids but it got done and my thanks to those gals, on to more work in the Spring. John asked for his volunteers and started meetings months ago, people to get prices on decorations, balloons, food, etc. That doesn't happen overnight-- it just seemed easy when you walked in and experienced the night. We actually went and asked Wegmans to give us a good price on our meat and their Meat Manager, Frank C., came through for us, so next time you visit Wegmans, stop at the butcher and say hi and thanks. The people who shopped and made numerous trips to Sam's and the Produce store and made arrangements for pickups and deliveries - again, volunteers, dedicated. The man who put it all together this year, John Malanka. Josephine, the "chicken lady", Marilyn, who finally came back from Arizona, Jimmy who never seems to be anywhere except where we need him, Paul who has been key to the improvements, audio and video, as well as sweating in the kitchen,  Jackie and staff and their quest to get our decorations and make it all special and save a few dollars over last year in the process---Joe, never stops once we get him in the kitchen - wish he was retired now! Our thanks to Sally for bringing Algia Motley to us again. Last year he blew the house down, this year he gave a more quiet side of his talent - what will next year bring. We'll have to wait to see what Sally has in store for us. So you see, it's not that easy and it was a team effort all the way, including our own employee, Mel "Butch" Maddox who had cleanup detail and is with us at every big affair. Thanks to our crew who put up with the redecorating committee, it wasn't easy! So, from all of us, to all of you who bring us together as friends and neighbors, for whatever reason, a heart felt, thank you.
